A retail tenant didn’t pay his rent and didn’t bother to show up to court for the eviction hearing. After he was served with the legal paperwork he saw me outside his shop and came running out cackling with laughter and waving the paperwork around.
Tenant: These legal papers you sent aren’t valid! They’re not real! It’s all full of mistakes! You can’t do anything to me! Look right here at the very top line! Ha ha ha ha ha! How would you even say that? Dee-Faloootie? What is that? Dee-Fahlootie? Oh my god that’s not even a real word! What are you trying to say? Deefahlootie? You’re terrible at your job! What a joke!
The word was Default. The line at the top of the page read Default Judgement.
