Tenant:  There are too many trees in this shopping center.  You should cut them down so that customers will come here.

Me:  They’re nice mature trees!  We keep them trimmed up too that your shops are visible.  I think customers like how the place looks with the big trees and they like to park in the shade the trees provide too.

Tenant:  Customers don’t like trees!  No one comes here for the trees!

Me:  I understand they don’t come for the trees but they like the trees.  The property looks very welcoming and green.

Tenant:  Trees aren’t welcoming!  You should cut them all down and put in cactus instead.  Then we could rename the shopping center Cactus Plaza.  THAT would make customers come here!

This would be why you never let the tenant associations have too much control.
